WELCOME TO DANJAL'S by Marion Webb-De Sisto

WELCOME TO DANJAL'S by Marion Webb-De Sisto

Meresin is the fallen angel that Ceila abhors. He’s rude, demanding and serves the Dark One. He loathes humans and considers them to be inferior to angels. This means that even though she’s only part human, he finds her objectionable at first.

Despite their intense dislike of each other, they are forced to be together by the action of demons, and their feelings begin to change. Will he ignore her humanness? Can she overlook his ruined nature and dark ways?

When an attraction develops between them, should they forget their previous hatred and help one another? Meresin becomes her rescuer and Ceila is grateful for his aid. So is it possible for love to sweep away their former antagonism?

She was curious to see who had caught Lenli’s attention and, as she reached his table, she saw her friend’s latest crush. He was dressed in black. His long, leather coat was unbuttoned and revealed an open-neck shirt and jeans; he also wore expensive boots. A sense of great strength emanated from him and his broad shoulders. His attention was on someone or something to his right so he didn’t look at Ceila, but she could see the scar that marred an otherwise handsome face. The deep gouge wasn’t fresh and appeared to have been caused by something other than a blade. He might have been clawed by some creature. The blackness of his shoulder-length hair rivaled the tone of his clothing, but there were thin streaks of white in it. They could be caused by age, yet what she could see of his face was smooth and unwrinkled, unlike the way humans showed the passage of time.

Using her angelic sight, she examined his aura. It was a mass of dark inky swirls, bounded by a shimmering blaze of indigo light. Lenli was right; he wasn’t human. Only angels who fought with Archangel Michael emitted that hue, but it was almost hidden by the darkness. He must be a former warrior angel who had fallen. They were seldom seen in this world of Cymllon. They preferred to hang out on Terra.

In order to confirm her angelic insight, she said in angel-speak, “Welcome to Danjal’s. I’m Ceila, your waitress. What can I get for you?”

He turned his head and she was subjected to a compelling scrutiny. His ice blue gaze traveled all the way down to her feet, and then back up again. Those eyes were the exact color of her celestite crystal, and she knew only angels that belonged to the Order of Powers possessed such mesmerising orbs.

In the human tongue he answered, “You are part human, an insignificant species. Do not use my language.” His voice was deep and harsh.

So he’s rude, as well as fallen. She wanted to tell this offensive oaf exactly what she thought of him, but he would complain to Danjal and that might mean the end of her job. Ceila had a reasonable rapport with the manager because she’d worked at the club for a considerable amount of time. Yet Danjal was known to fire any waitress when angered by her.

Ceila refused to comply with the fallen angel’s order. She expressed, “That comment insults my human mother. I’m able to speak in either language, and addressed you in yours as a way of trying to be helpful.” Let’s see how you like that answer.

“I can hear your thoughts.” This telepathic reply was made in the human tongue.

A Dowsing Exercise with a Ring Pendulum

·    Decide upon a number of questions that you or someone else would like to have answered.

·    Choose a silver or gold ring. Even if it has no gemstones, it was created from a mineral.

·    Tie a piece of thread to the ring. It should be no more than 7” long.

·    Sit down comfortably and practice holding your ring pendulum in your dominant hand {right if you are right-handed, left if you are left-handed}. The official position is known as “the eye of the cobra,” which means holding your forearm in an upright position and slightly away from the body. The end of the thread is held between the thumb and first finger with the other fingers following the curve of that finger. The pendulum should be hanging straight down and parallel to your arm.

·    Take time to establish how this pendulum will indicate “Yes” and “No” answers.*

·    When you feel ready, give the pendulum a slight swing.

·    Now ask your first question and wait for an answer.

·    Once it is given, hold the ring still for a moment, and then give the pendulum a slight swing once again.

·    Ask the next question and wait for an answer.

·    Continue in this manner until all of the questions have been asked and answered.

·    Thank the ring and cleanse it by visualization.**

* If a pendulum is being consulted for “Yes” and “No” answers, you will need to establish, before you begin to dowse, how your pendulum will show you these answers. For some people a pendulum will swing clockwise for “Yes” and anti-clockwise for “No.” For others it will show the affirmative by swinging up-and-down, and from side-to-side for a negative response. Take time before attempting any dowsing exercises to become familiar with how your pendulum indicates its answers to you.

** Imagine Divine golden light is radiating throughout the ring and its beams transform all negativity into positive energy.

N. B. If the ring pendulum should become still when you ask a question and does not indicate a “Yes” or “No” answer, then you are being told that it is not right to be given an answer at this time. If it appears undecided, in other words, it keeps alternating between clockwise and anti-clockwise, or between up-and-down and from side-to-side, then consider this to be a “Maybe” answer.

TAKEN: TALES OF CYMLLON by Marion Webb-DeSisto

TAKEN: TALES OF CYMLLON SERIES by Marion Webb-DeSisto

A blind date with a guy dressed as an angel is what Esther Nolan's friends give as her thirtieth birthday present. Reluctant to accept, she nevertheless goes to dinner with the pseudo angel, named Zortek, and he's rude, chauvinistic and very odd. The following night he suddenly appears in Esther’s apartment and takes her captive to the magical world of Cymllon. There she learns he's a demgel, someone who is half demon, half angel. Rescued by another demgel, named Dreydon, she spends time with him in his home. Esther quickly develops feelings of attraction toward Dreydon, but tries to ignore them because he isn't human.

Rescuing Esther is a very unusual act for Dreydon. He doesn't normally concern himself with what other demgels are doing. Yet he feels drawn to her. Having her company fills the loneliness in his life. Dreydon discovers and shares with Esther a truth about herself that she finds impossible to believe. He also realizes she is his mate.

Will Zortek want revenge because Dreydon took Esther from him? And will two unalike individuals from different worlds find lasting love?

Eventually, Esther could see the grassy field was coming to an end. Beyond it were densely-clumped trees, so another wood with rewarding shade was waiting for them. As they drew close, she heard the flapping of wings overhead. Looking up, she saw another demgel circling above them. He flew round and round two or three times and then dropped down a few feet away from Zortek’s left side. This newcomer spoke several unintelligible words in a measured, deep voice. Whatever he said made Zortek angry. He gripped Esther even tighter and shouted a response.

Unlike the dead one, this demgel was taller and broader than her captor. He was wearing pants that looked like raggedy shorts, and well-worn sandals. His skin color resembled a golden tan, his wings were brown and his dark eyes were blazing at Zortek. He uttered more incomprehensible words, and the tone of his voice and his body stance told her he was undoubtedly issuing a challenge. To Esther it seemed as though Zortek hesitated for a few seconds—then he released his hold on her and strode over to the newcomer. His claws became evident, as did those of his challenger. The other demgel snarled at Zortek and she could see he possessed long fangs. They then went at each other with even more ferocity than the previous fight.

Was this another opportunity for escape? Or would Zortek also kill this second combatant? Esther thought it was better to try getting away rather than stand there and watch another killing. She took a couple of steps backward, but stopped because the new demgel’s eyes were locked on her, and his right arm was outstretched in her direction. His left arm was clamped around Zortek’s body, pinning his arms into immobility. He pointed a golden claw at Esther and mouthed something. She felt a tremor pass right through her and when she attempted to continue moving away, her feet felt like they were glued to the ground. This was different from what Zortek had done to her muscles, but it was equally as powerful. She was unable to do anything other than stand and watch the two demgels fight.

Somehow Zortek managed to free himself and his claws were swiping at his opponent. He connected with tissue, and Esther could see golden blood discharging from gouges in the other demgel’s chest. Yet her captor was faring worse. He had even deeper gashes on his arms and body and it was obvious he was the weaker of the two. The new demgel now had him confined in a bear hug and appeared to be literally crushing him. Zortek opened his mouth and bit down on his challenger’s shoulder with his fangs. The other one’s face contorted with pain. He violently threw Zortek down on the grass and was instantly astride him. His knees were holding his opponent’s arms immobile and the pressure of his long legs kept Zortek’s legs still. Esther watched in dismay as his left arm shot upward. She knew what he was about to do.

“No! No! I can’t bear any more killing.”

The demgel’s arm remained up in the air as he looked across at her. She shook her head vigorously and held her breath, waiting for him to make the killing strike. It didn’t happen. Instead, his claws vanished and his hand smashed down and delivered a jaw-breaking blow to Zortek’s chin. He was immediately rendered unconscious.

The victor got up and walked over to Esther. He had to be close to seven feet in height so he literally towered over her. The golden scales across his shoulders and chest were almost standing up on end, but as she watched, they slowly lay down flat against his body. His fangs had also retracted back into his mouth. He stared down at her with a look that sent dread rushing through her mind and body, but she hoped she could hide her fear. If he was about to kill her, he wouldn’t have the satisfaction of seeing her cringe. He leaned close to Esther and sniffed her face, just as Zortek had done. Then, while straightening back up, his left hand reached out toward her and she waited for the possible death blow. However, he only touched her lightly on the arm and said, “You can move now.”

She tested his words by shuffling her feet and they were no longer stuck to the ground. Esther toyed with the idea of running away from him as fast as she could, but before she had a chance to decide what to do, his arms encircled her and he lifted up into flight. His wings beat strongly and his body was angled almost horizontally. Esther was held closely under him. All she could see was the swell of taut muscles under his golden tan skin, and a deep wound running across his chest. There was also a light odor of sandalwood coming from him. She gave thought to breaking free from his grasp, yet that would be foolish. If he let her go, she’d fall, and Esther was sure they were flying high, so that would mean certain death for her.

They flew for some distance. At least his body was shielding her from the merciless sun. Was he now taking her to that unknown thing, a mejin? Esther decided that once they were back on the ground, she would try to escape. She would have no idea about which direction to take, but at least she’d be free. Meanwhile, it was sensible to allow him to take her wherever he was going. Esther closed her eyes and tried to appreciate how she was being given a new and different experience, that of flying.

~ Malpas ~

Feeling less tired, Sara watched a movie that didn’t end until midnight. She then made herself a hot chocolate drink and finally went to bed. Sleep came quickly. Before long she was having a dream that was set in her library. She was placing a number of books on their appropriate shelves, but when she was finished, the books fell down on the floor. Sara bent down, picked them up and placed them back where they belonged. Once again, the books fell down and, as she stooped to retrieve them, a strong musky aroma wafted over her. There was only one person who carried that smell, Malpas. She heard:

“I have missed you, Sara Harding.”

She wanted to tell him she’d also missed him, but was actually horrified by having such a thought. Instead, she pulled the obsidian pendant from under what she presumed was her blouse and realized she was wearing a nightgown, not her work clothes. To be in the library dressed only in her nightgown was embarrassing, yet not as important as making him aware she knew what he was and had protection against him. In the classic style of holding a vampire at bay with a cross, Sara brandished her pendant and declared, “I am protected by the Goddess. I banish you back to Hell or wherever you belong.”

There was silence for a moment, and then a throaty chuckle came from Malpas. “So now you know I’m not an imaginary character? That saves me the annoyance of telling you who I am. I was going to do that tonight.”

Sara suddenly realized he was speaking out loud and not in her mind. She remarked:

“You said you were only allowed to speak English telepathically. Why are you now talking in my language?"

“For you, sweet Sara, I break the rules. If I speak only in your mind, I appear to be a dream character. I want you to know I am real.”

She waved the pendant in what she hoped was his direction and reiterated, “I banish you!”

“Obsidian would only protect you from me if I’d never touched you. As you know, I have caressed and done much more to you, Sara, so your pendant is useless against me.”

“My friend, Angie, told me what you are. She said obsidian is very protective so don’t try to pretend it has no power over you. Go back to Hell!”

“I speak the truth. Your pendant cannot stop me from talking to you or doing whatever I wish.”

One of his hands covered hers and with his other one he took the pendant from her grasp. He placed it under her nightgown and between her breasts. His fingers gently caressed her as his hand moved back up. “Let us go to the place where we normally meet.” The library vanished and Sara knew they were in that nowhere location, the one Angie called the alpha state. She said:

“Angie told me this place isn’t the dream state. When we’re here, I’m almost awake. That means I’m not dreaming you.”

“Your friend is correct. This is the level in which those, such as I, like to act. I can come to you in dreams, as I just did, but other than the waking state this is where we can physically relate.”

That information nudged her curiosity. “You can be with me when I’m awake?”

“Yes, but then you would think you were hallucinating. Hearing a voice and having sex with an unseen entity would be impossible to accept.”

“Could I see you, too?”

“That would be traumatic. I don’t resemble anything you could consider pleasant.”

Excerpt:

Samael’s hand moved up to her hair and removed the comb. As her long tresses draped around her shoulders, he informed, “I have no desire to further discuss the Source. Instead, let me show you how pleased I am to have you back here with me.” He tilted her chin, brought his face close to hers and thought-whispered, “Do you know how to kiss, Angel Manah?”

Now, pure panic took hold of Manah. Angels had told her about the different ways in which humans expressed affection, and she had seen Toa and Belu kiss. Therefore, she knew it was an intimate action. The seraph squirmed away from the archangel, pushing against his arms and wings, trying desperately to get off his lap. “Let me go, Lord Samael! I know how humans kiss and I do not want you to do that to me.”

He kept a tight hold on her with one hand while he cradled her head with the other. As his face drew close, Samael declared, “But I wish to kiss you, my little angel.” He slightly tilted his head and his lips touched hers. At first she could barely feel any contact, and then suddenly there was probing pressure. Manah wanted to fight against this unfamiliar intimacy, but as it continued she became a part of it. She pressed her mouth against his and was consumed by waves of unleashed emotion. Her lips parted, as did his, and she felt his tongue exploring the contours of her mouth. The angel’s consciousness screamed at her to stop, but she had never before felt so blissful. Manah was trapped by the closeness they were sharing.

The ardent kiss continued on until the archangel finally lifted his mouth from hers and, looking steadily into her eyes, he remarked, “That was even more pleasurable than I could have imagined. I believe I have awakened a passion within you, little angel. We are well-suited to be companions.”

Suddenly, a full realization of what had just happened filled Manah’s thoughts. She had revealed her inner desire for this evil archangel. He now knew she felt drawn to him and it could prove disastrous. She must try to convince him that what she had offered was not genuine, but was instead a result of some form of sorcery by him. Manah almost thought-screamed, “Let me go! You have beguiled me with your archangelic magic. I cannot imagine anything more repulsive than kissing such an evil being. You must have cast an enchantment upon me.”

The first archangel appeared shocked. He opened his wings and released his hold on her. As she jumped up, he declared, “I have practiced no sorcery on you. My kiss was a true reflection of my feelings for you and I thought you were responding in kind. I did not know you think of me as repulsive. On both occasions, when you have visited me, I have attempted to show how much I care about you. I know I have perpetrated much wickedness, but my interest in you is real and has no hidden motivation.”

Samael’s thought-words seemed honest and she wanted to apologize for her harshness. Yet she feared he would wish to hold her, again, if she did. Manah snatched her comb from his open lap, pulled back her long tresses and secured them with the hair adornment. She sat back down on the chair and replied, “I cannot accept what you have stated as truth. You are devious and deceitful so why should I believe you? If you try, again, to behave so intimately with me, I shall immediately end this visit, my lord.”

Apparently having recovered from her surprising outburst, the archangel suggested, “Perhaps you were unaware of your feelings toward me before I kissed you? As I stated, I was not captivating you with any form of magic, therefore, your passionate response must have been sincere. Yet if you wish to deny it, I can understand your reasoning. I am an outcast who should be shunned. Surely that is what the Source told you?”

“No, my lord, our parent referred to you as being precious. I am certain it holds great love for you.”
“Nevertheless, it has exiled me to this vile domain.” He twisted the emerald ring round and round on his index finger, obviously deep in thought. Eventually, he brought his attention back to Manah and asked, “How shall we keep you occupied while you are here, little angel?”

“I do not know, Lord Samael. I certainly have no desire to explore Abbadon and, if you consider it to be vile, why do you remain here? You could enter Lord Michael’s level and become redeemed.”

“Is that what you would have me do, little Manah? For you I might just contemplate a return to the inner levels. Would you give yourself to me if I undertake such a venture?”

Was he jesting with her? He was a powerful archangel and she was just an angel. For once, she had no reply to give to him.

“You have no stinging retort for me, my little angel? Well, let my question remain in your thoughts.”
