He slipped his hand beneath her blouse and encountered her lacy bra.

For a moment, he traced the openwork design with a finger. “I can almost imagine what your body looks like just from tracing all this lace. But I’d much rather see it firsthand.” With a rough curse, he stripped her out of the shirt and bra before he lifted her. With his mouth hard on hers, he carried her to the small bedroom and laid her on the bed. She drew him down on top of her so that her bare breasts merged with his hard chest. She drank in the smell of his body with pleasure. The feel of his firm skin so intimately kindled a raging arousal in her.

Ray moved his hand down her throat and began stroking the side of her breast. “Take off the rest of it, please.”

Rennia’s fingers trembled as she pushed her jeans down her legs and kicked them across the room. Ray licked his lips as his gaze dropped to her taut breasts. He palmed one of the soft mounds and began to pull gently at her nipple. His work-roughened fingers created a rasping sensation against the firm bud, making it stand up taut and straight. She let out her breath with a moan when Ray cupped her breasts, using his thumbs to rub back and forth across her nipples.

He flexed his fingers against her skin. “You’re so soft…so damned soft.” Fondling her breast, controlling her mouth, he pressed her firmly into the mattress. Her heart slammed against the walls of her chest. Ray worked his way back down her neck and across her collarbone before moving to the aching tips of her swollen breasts. His mouth opened, and he drew the hard tip into it with a faint, soft suction that brought a sharp cry from her dry lips. He sucked it with hard, firm pulls that had her moving her legs to admit him to an intimacy that made her head swim.

Moisture pooled between her legs, and she could feel it begin to slick her thighs. Rennia wasn’t a virgin, but she’d only had one lover in college, and he’d never made her feel anything close to what she was feeling now. She held her breath as rough fingers stroked the hot flesh between her thighs. Her head went back, her eyes closed, as she shivered, biting her lip to keep from weeping, the pleasure was so overwhelming.

“Ray,” she called out, as her nails bit into his broad shoulders.

He pulled her even closer, straining against the thick nylon barrier that was all that separated them. Her pussy clenched when he hooked his fingers beneath the elastic waist and tore them from her body. “I don’t want anything separating us, Rennia. I need to be closer.” His long fingers flexed into the soft skin of her buttocks, stroking and lightly pinching. She felt a husky groan slip from her mouth, as he grew more insistent. Ray moved his fingers gently around the outside lips of her labia, not touching her clit at all. She gasped and thrust herself against his fingers, beginning to ride his hand.

“Your pussy feels like heaven. You’re sopping wet.” He thrust his fingers inside her faster as he ground his palm against her clit. She could still feel one of his hands warm and forceful against her buttocks. Taking a deep breath, she threaded her fingers in his hair and directed his mouth to her neglected breast. Her breath came whooshing out when he used his teeth, abrading the soft flesh. A few feverish minutes later he moved between her long legs and his mouth pushed hard against her lips as his hips eased down against hers. His leg became insistent between her thighs, coaxing them to move apart, to admit the slow, exquisite imprint of his body as he settled his shoulders between her legs. She groaned harshly when he licked her from her anus to her clit. “You taste so damn good.”

Ray hummed as he rimmed the opening of her vagina with his tongue and without warning he thrust it up inside her passage.

Rennia’s breath caught in her throat as she felt his tongue lap gently between her lips, barely catching her clit. Then, he suckled on the small bud and bit gently. She cried out as she ground her aching slit against his hot tongue.

Pushing up, he moved quickly to tangle his tongue with hers, thrusting gently as he had done into her eager slit. She could taste herself in his kiss. “I want you so badly, Rennia. Please, baby, don’t say no. This one’s gonna be fast, but I promise I’ll make it up to you. I just can’t wait to feel myself buried in your beautiful body.”

When Rennia managed to nod, Ray grabbed one of the condoms he’d laid on her table, moved between her wet thighs and placed the sheathed crown of his erection against her tight pussy. His finger moved to stroke back and forth over her nipple. Smiling, he arched over her prone body, resting his formidable weight in his forearms. With one hard thrust, his big cock was buried fully inside her pussy so deep Rennia felt skewered, so big her pussy felt stretched to its limits.

With a groan, Ray began to move within her. Slowly at first, but gradually quicker as desire and need overtook them, he plunged in and out of her silky sheath. Rennia moaned with each of his fierce thrusts, wrapping her legs around him, urging him on, and meeting his every thrust. Needing more, she pushed her lower body against the hard cradle of his pelvis. Rennia arched her back and screamed.

“What was that?” Maxim turned at the sound of a high-pitched wail. He frowned.

“It sounds like a child,” Matteus replied. “You don’t think those damned miners are trying to screw one again do you? What is it about those sick bastards trying to rape little boys?”

“I have no idea, but I do know that I would love to put at least two of them out of everyone’s misery.” Max ran toward the screams. He hoped to get there before the disgusting miners scarred the poor child for life.

Matt rounded the corner first, his eyes going wide. “Holy God. They’ve killed someone.”

Maxim smiled at Matt’s words. Death was never a good thing, but if it got a few of those sick bastards out of town on a prison wagon, at least the loss of life wasn’t a total waste.

They each skidded to a stop as they looked down at the dark, red-gold hair spread out around the face of an angel.

Taking a deep breath, the woman’s scent filled his nostrils and everything in him went still for a moment before his wolf snarled with rage. This woman could be his mate. He looked at Matteus. She could very well be mate to both of them, and someone had hurt her, possibly killed her.

A growl formed deep in his throat as he stood looking at the first woman on this Earth, hell, in the universe that had stirred his senses in over two hundred years.

He looked at the man who stood over her with a leer on his face and growled again. “Don’t touch her!” It was all he could do to keep himself from turning into his wolf and ripping the miner’s throat out. Who in the helldid he think he was, laying a hand upon any decent woman?

“I’ll touch her if I damned well please. She’s my whore. I saw her first.” The miner bent down and thrust his dirty fingers into her beautiful hair.

“Touch her again and pull back a nub.” The look on Matt’s face said he meant business. No one defied Max’s second-in-command when he used that look. Hell, Max had a hard time ignoring that look, and he was Chancellor of Taos and ruler of their kind. He wasn’t intimidated by anyone, but that look Matt got on occasion had always been enough to give him pause.

When the miner continued reaching toward their mate, both he and Matt growled. The two miners froze in place. The sound was…inhuman, as it should have been, considering they were wolven. They were what these men would call werewolves here on this planet. However, the miners didn’t know that.

“What’s the matter with you?” Elmer spat on the ground in front of him. “She’s nothin’ but a whore.” He grinned and then grabbed his crotch. “You can have a turn after we’re done with them.”

Max knelt down, brushed the hair from the beauty’s face, and glared at the man who dared to strike a female. “Leave us, or die, Fred.” He growled again and just for the hell of it, he let some of the predator glow show in his eyes.

Fred swallowed visibly. The acrid scent of fear poured off the man in waves and he stood, backing away. “Let’s get outta here, Elmer.” He backed up a few paces and helped his friend to his feet. “She’s probably no fun anyway. I don’t know of any good whore that would kick a man’s jewels up into his throat.”

The two left. Fred limped away, his friend supporting him, while he still held a hand pressed against his crotch. Elmer hovered close to his friend, complaining about harlots who didn’t know their place.

Max turned his attention back to their mate. A bruise bloomed on the side of her face in the short time he knelt over her. The only reason the two miners still lived was because they had no idea she was their mate. Otherwise, he would have killed them where they stood. Part of him still thought he should. If any human was nothing more than a waste of skin, it was those two.

Matt leaned down intending to talk to the boy, trying to gain his trust while Max reached for the woman, picked her up in his arms, then stood and looked down. As much as he wanted to give Matt the time he needed to get the boy to come along without a fight, he knew they needed to get the woman out of this town before she woke up. There was no doubt that she would never leave town with them willingly if she regained consciousness first.

“I am Max,” he said to the boy. Pointing to Matt, he added, “And this is Matteus, though you may call him Matt. We wish to help your mother. Will you allow it?”

The boy, who couldn’t have been more than ten or so, looked up at him through wide blue eyes and said something in a language he didn’t understand.

“Wonderful. He doesn’t speak English,” Max said with a sigh, resting his hands on his hips as he turned toward the livery. “I hope she does, or this is going to be an interesting courtship. Bring the boy, Matt. We need to get her home and into bed. There’s no telling what kind of damage those two did to her.”

Max looked down at his unconscious mate and wanted nothing more than to tear the two worthless men limb from limb, but he knew that would only end in a jail sentence for both him and Matt. It went without saying that they would reveal what they were as well, and that was something he couldn’t do, no matter how badly his wolf howled for retribution. It would put all of the wolven here on Earth at risk.

Turning, he headed toward the large barn where they’d stowed their horses. “I want to have her all to ourselves and away from this town when she wakes up.”

Zack squatted down next to the girl. “What do you want me to do?”

“Unfasten his belt and pull his pants down.”

Zack wrinkled his nose and moved to do as she asked. He noticed she turned her face away and blushed as he pulled the trousers down past the man’s boxer shorts, leaving them bunched around his calves. “Okay, I’m pretty sure the damn thing’s broken, Medina. It looks bad. I need to call a medical transport, man.”

Aurelia turned back around and glanced at the injured leg. “That won’t be necessary.” She moved closer to Medina’s body and pulled off her gloves. Taking a deep breath, she rubbed her hands together as if to warm them, and then placed them on his thigh.

As Zack watched, a slight orange glow formed around her hands, highlighting each finger. With her eyes closed, she breathed in and out steadily. It was like she disappeared into her own little world. Medina groaned and then visibly relaxed. His head sank back onto the ground as he sighed.

After a couple of minutes, Aurelia gasped and pulled her hands away. If anything, she was even paler than before. “How is it?” she asked.

Medina moved his leg up and down and laughed. “It’s all better, girl. Damn, I’ve seen you do that before, but it never fails to amaze me. You fixed it.”

“What’s going on?” Zack asked. Medina sighed and awkwardly got to his feet. He pulled up his pants, fastened them, and then reached to help Aurelia stand. Zack frowned when she swayed slightly. “Is she all right?”

Medina nodded. “The healings always take something out of her, some more than others. This was minor compared to some of the things I’ve seen her do.”

“It’s time for you to tell me the truth. What are you doing out here? I know you came from the building because you left the door open.”

“I had to. I needed a way back in where nobody could see me.”

Zack crossed his arms over his chest. “I’m waiting. What’s going on?”

“He’s helping me escape.”

Zack frowned and looked at the girl. “Escape from what?”

“The government,” whispered Aurelia.

“I couldn’t leave her in there any longer, man. They’ve been holding her here, against her will.”

“Why?” asked Zack.

“Because of my gift.”

“Your gift? I don’t understand.”

“She can heal people with the touch of her hands,” said Medina. “It’s not a scam. You saw it for yourself. They found out what she can do and they wanna know more. Hell, they’re keeping her drugged most of the time. They’ve been running all kinds of medical tests when she’s unconscious. I’m afraid of what they’ll try to do next. They can’t figure where her power comes from.”

Zack knew all about having abilities one had to keep secret. “How did they find you?”

Aurelia’s eyes filled with tears. “I’d been able to heal my brother’s small cuts and bruises since I was about five. When my father accidentally backed over his dog, I healed him right there in the driveway. Up until then, I’d kept it to myself, but my father was a witness this time.” She wiped at her eyes. “At first, he was afraid of me, but then he began to wonder how he could benefit from my gift. He wasn’t discreet, and before he could make any real plans, the government made him an offer. Basically, you could say he sold me. They gave him money and a small piece of land and then took me away to live in their labs.”

“How long ago?” asked Zack.

“Five years. I was nine years old when I last saw my family.”

Medina grabbed Zack’s arm. “Please, you’ve got to let her go. They’re planning to transfer her soon, and I might not be able to go with her. She deserves a chance at life.”

“Where were you taking her tonight?”

“My cousin is waiting about a mile from here, through the woods. He’s gonna get her out of the country and take her someplace they’ll never find her. I was gonna go back inside and make it look like she’d escaped.”

“Was Raulston in on this?” asked Zack.

“No, but I knew I could get by him. He’s been drinking on duty lately.”

Zack turned away and walked a few feet. When he turned back, his gaze settled on Aurelia. His coyote wanted closer, wanted to protect the little girl. Nobody should have to live their life as some kind of specimen. “For this to work, It’s gonna have to look like both of us were taken unaware. I wouldn’t be able to explain how she got past me while I was on patrol. You’ll have to knock me out and then go back inside and do whatever you can to make it look like you were overpowered.”

Medina smiled. “Then you’ll help us?”

Zack sighed and nodded. Aurelia moved quickly and threw her arms around his waist. “Thank you, oh, God, thank you. Bless you, sir. I’ll never forget you.”

Zack cleared his throat and pushed her away. “Go on and get her to your brother. I don’t wanna know where you’re going. I’ll be waiting by the back door. When you get back, we can set the scene.”

Medina holstered his gun. “Thanks, Wind River. I’ll owe you, man.”

“Call me Zack, please.” He motioned toward the woods. “Go on and get moving. You’re wasting time.” He stood and watched as the two of them hurried toward the northern border of town. Just before they disappeared into the trees, the girl turned back and gave a small wave. For some reason, his stomach clenched. For a moment, he fought the impulse to chase after her, and then turned to make his way back to the building he was supposed to be guarding. It was definitely going to be a long, cold night.

ADULT EXCERPT

Zack moved to the foot of the bed and prowled up Aurelia’s body. He cupped her head and gazed down into her eyes. Then, unable to help himself, he kissed her, devouring her mouth. She lay back as he covered her body with his. Dropping close to her ear, he nibbled on her lobe. “You excite me, mate,” he whispered against her damp skin. Reaching up, he cupped her cheek and brushed his thumb tenderly back and forth across her skin.

Biting back a groan, his hands ran up her torso to the outsides of her breasts. Bending, he covered the tip of her breast with his mouth, teasing the sensitive bud of tight flesh. He took the engorged nipple into his mouth and sucked gently, reveling in the fact it was his touch that aroused her so much he could scent her desire.

Needing more, his hands roamed down her stomach and over the swells of her hips and buttocks, and then dropped to search between her legs. Pleasure shot into his balls as she gasped, her entire body shivering in response, her fingernails digging into his scalp. Moving restlessly beneath him, she caressed his arm, his shoulders, his back, every part of him she could reach. Groaning, she dragged her nails down his back as he left a wet trail on her skin with his lips and tongue. He worked his way down her body as she squirmed in pleasure. Then, she froze when his fingers brushed the inside of her thighs.

Looking down, he gazed at her open pussy, moist and gleaming. Bending, he brushed his knuckles against her silky skin and then flicked his tongue along her inner thigh. She moved restlessly as he licked her leg slowly from her ankle to the inside of her knee, and then trembled when his mouth inched a little farther up her thigh.

Zack could smell the moisture pooling between her legs as he studied the curly patch of damp hair covering the entrance to her sex. He rubbed circles on her belly before his fingers explored her moist heat. Her nails bit into his shoulders as she clung to him, her head thrown back, her lips parted.

Coating his fingers in her slick excitement, Zack found her clit and rubbed it before he pushed a finger inside her core, followed quickly by a second one. Gently he pumped them in and out of her pussy as her inner walls clamped down around his fingers. She moaned when he took her clit between his thumb and forefinger and rubbed the slick flesh slowly in tiny circles. He plucked and teased the sensitive flesh, and then slipped his thick index finger inside of her, moving it slowly in and out before he traced her cleft again.

Leaning close, he thrust his tongue inside her to explore her intimately and felt her pussy flood with cream. “You taste even better than you smell.” Zack could hear Aurelia muttering but couldn’t understand what she said. A harsh sound escaped her lips as she closed her eyes and opened her legs a little more. Accepting her invitation, he extended his tongue and lapped slowly, feasting on her juices, savoring her musky scent and salty taste. “Come over my tongue, mate. Give me what I need,” he whispered.

Zack swirled his tongue through her folds and right up into her channel as she cried out. His fingers moved into her hot sheath at the same time he clamped down on her clit. Aurelia’s body stiffened and shuddered under his hands as she exploded. Arching upward, she let out a cry as she came, her inner walls clutching at his fingers. A fresh surge of cream erupted from her pussy, coating his hand.

Zack moved up her body quickly and thrust his tongue between her lips. Eager and demanding, he moved it deep into her mouth. He panted as he pulled back to look into her eyes. “I need my cock in you, now.” When Aurelia nodded, he grasped his sex and pushed the tip slowly inside of her, watching as her flesh parted for him. Guiding the head, he pushed it just inside while she arched toward him eagerly, aiding his descent.

His shaft slid into her with ease, her channel wet and welcoming as he stretched her walls. She caught his hips, urging him to move faster, delve deeper. Zack released a harsh breath and drove deeply, grinding his hips against her, and slid all the way in with a powerful thrust. Aurelia locked her ankles behind his back and lifted her arms, looping them around his shoulders and spearing her fingers through his hair. She clutched his shaft with her inner muscles.

Catching her buttocks in his hands, Zack arched upward even as he bore down on her. He angled his strokes higher up on her body so his shaft rubbed her clit and then flexed his hips to sink a little deeper inside. Aurelia dug her fingernails into the tops of his shoulders and squeezed his shaft with her strong inner muscles. He cupped her bottom in his hands and lifted her hips as he pumped between her thighs.

“Faster, Zack, faster.”

Groaning, Laynee slowly opened her eyes and shivered. “Father?” She felt groggy, her head almost spinning. Her tongue felt thick, and a bad taste coated her mouth. She could smell an earthy, pine scent mixed with the odor of damp, rotting wood. The air was crisp and bitingly cold. She reached out her hand and trailed her fingers over the rough bark of a tree. A cold wind ruffled through her hair.

“Ugh,” she groaned when she felt the moisture seeping into her jeans. She could feel the prickle of briars against her palms as she pushed to a sitting position, the spongy ground making her draw back in horror. Why can’t I think clearly? Everything seems so fuzzy. “Where the hell am I, Father?” she screamed.

She froze and tried to calm her breathing, listening carefully for the sound of voices. The only sound was the branches creaking and the groaning of the trees in the wind. She wrapped her arms around her waist and tried to stop from shaking. “What am I gonna do now?”

Trying to control her fear, she struggled to her feet and reached out with her hand to steady herself against a tree. Dizziness nearly overwhelmed her as she dropped to her knees. She turned her face to the wind and strained to hear a familiar sound. After a minute, she tried to stand and froze. The rhythmic sound of footsteps beating against the path caused her breath to catch. “Who’s there?” she whispered.

“I can hear something panting.” Using her legs, she pushed back toward the tree when something plowed through the brush. When she heard an excited yip, she turned to the direction it came from and smiled. “Doggy, here boy.” Barely able to keep her eyes open, she held out her hand. Moments later, something cold and wet pressed against her palm.

She took a shaky breath and laughed. “You’re a big fellow, aren’t you?” Laynee continued to pet him, laughing when he licked her cheek and neck, partially leaning on his firm back. The heat from his body drew her. She scooted closer and hugged him tight.

“You’re so warm, boy. Do you think I could warm myself for just a minute?” It was almost like he understood, cuddling closer, giving her the warmth from his body. “Fellow, we need to get out of here. You’ve got to have a master somewhere.” Her hands rubbed over his neck. “You don’t have a damn collar. Are you a stray?” She sighed when he licked her cheek. “Do you think you could lead us out of here, big guy? I can’t make it on my own. You’ll have to let me lean on you. I’m not feeling too well.”

* * * *

Eric sniffed Laynee’s neck, whined, and then growled softly. She’s my mate! There was something off about her scent, but there was no doubt, this woman was his mate. He spotted a drink can on the ground and leaned down to sniff it, growling when he caught the unnatural scent. She was drugged, just like the man said. When she stiffened, he stopped growling and licked her cheek, whining when he felt her relax against him.

Turning, he stared at her face and froze. Her blank gaze was directed his way, but it was obvious she didn’t see him. My beautiful mate is blind! What kind of a man would leave his blind daughter to fend for herself?

Another unusual scent caught Eric’s attention. He raised his nose and breathed in deeply. With a low growl, he pulled away from Laynee and moved to the other side of the tree.

“Wait,” Laynee cried, and tried to grab for him, nearly falling flat on her face.

He hurried back so she could touch him, but not before he saw the raw meat lying on the ground. It’s a miracle some animal didn’t find her before I did. I’ve got to get her moving toward the highway so David can find us. They were too far from the road for David to pick up her scent unless he shifted. I’d hate to see how she’d react to hearing a bear lumbering through the woods.

Eric nudged her thigh and watched in horror as she tumbled over onto her side. Damn, I didn’t mean to knock you down.

Laynee groaned and pulled herself up. “I’m sorry, boy. I can’t seem to wake up. I’m so dizzy.”

Eric growled softly. I know why you’re dizzy. All those drugs are still in your system. It’s gonna be hard getting you back to the car if I don’t shift.

Determined, he nudged her thigh again and gripped her shirt between his teeth and pulled. She got the message and pulled herself up.

“Okay, boy. I’m coming. Keep your shirt on.” She got shakily to her feet, leaned heavily against Eric, and threaded her fingers in his ruff, holding on tight. Eric leaned down, closed his jaw around the soda can, and then prodded her forward, moving her around rocks and limbs as carefully as he could. Slowly they made their way toward the highway.

Alex's gaze swept to Dee, and something tugged at his soul.

Carefree mother earth goddess, hands thrown up in the air, forefingers pointed, eyes closed, sensuality personified. She bent her knees and did a rapid stripper's roll, circling her hip to the left. The burlap flap fell away as her bottom lifted, and Alex got a ten-second glimpse of a high, rounded, naked cheek. A slash of scarlet slashed its edge. Dizzying desire sparked lightning bolts, and primordial instincts wrestled away any remaining veneer of civilized man.

His hands snaked around Dee's narrow waist, and he locked them together. Dee jerked to a halt becoming un-pliant in his embrace. Alex pulled her back to his chest. Her head popped around, and she didn't seem surprised to discover it was he. Dee let him hug her, but Alex felt her doubt in the rigid tension of her spine. He loosened his hold letting a few inches separate them. Gradually, she began moving to the music, hips undulating. Alex drew her closer in small increments until they chipped forward together.

A large man bumped into Alex's shoulder, warm liquid from the bottle in his hand sloshed over Alex's arm. Sparks lit the dark morning to the right of them, and the pungent aroma of marijuana battled those of rum and perspiration for dominance.

"Here comes the rain." Michael materialized at Alex's side. The music halted for a moment, and his shout resonated over the shuffling of feet. "The bubbies, here comes the bubbies. I need some whiskey and a woman to wine on."

A smattering of stinging, cold raindrops assaulted Alex's skin.

Michael passed the bottle of Black Label to Dee. She twisted out of Alex's arms to get it, took a swift swallow, and plopped the bottle into his hands. He took a sip of the fiery liquid and gave it to Jake.

Alex's eyes were drawn inexorably to Dee's breasts. Sure enough, her nipples had hardened under the chill torrent of raindrops, tightening into stiff, round points. His lips dried out, parched, thirsting. His mouth burned with the need to suckle, sip at those nubs. He grabbed the whiskey bottle and took another long swig, trying to eradicate the flood of lust threatening an embarrassing release. When he encircled her waist again, Dee relaxed, snuggling into his arms. His cock grazed the small of her back, feeding on the slight friction. A fierce breeze whooshed down the six-lane road, puckering flesh.

Dee's petite form shuddered, bursting into a series of little shivers. Alex touched his mouth to her ear. "Cold?"

Dainty hands came up to cup her shoulders, and she nodded.

Planting his feet wide apart, Alex shouted, "Stay there." He braced against the crowds milling at his back, hooked his t-shirt over his head, and offered it to her.

The crowd jostled Alex along the length of a blaring music truck. A man wearing black spandex cycle shorts sang into a microphone under the fluorescent lights of a canopied music truck. He warbled a calypso, equal parts Rap and Soca, his bluesy voice climbing above the crowd's sing-a-long and the rain's drumming. The moment proved intoxicating in the extreme. The scent of musky coupling and sweet rum filled the air. The music wove into Alex's brain. Pelvises gyrated friction, from the front, behind, and at the sides.

As individuals, they held no goals, no direction. As a united crowd, bent on sensory pleasure, music, elation, touching, grinding, the scent of heated arousal, a sugary, languid, soaring excitement with one end in sight: climax, the poignant fulfillment of a bacchanalian dawning. J'ouvert, the day opening, the literal translation of the term.

Drunkenness stole over Alex in time to the rising red ball of the sun on the horizon. They crossed the Savannah Stage at six o'clock. The band refused to leave the wide wooden podium, even after some self-important official pleaded with them over a megaphone to let other bands have their turn.

In search of a quiet spot, she found Warren Bonham’s office. Carter’s best friend from childhood, Warren managed the warehousing and shipping. The most organized of the bunch, he sat with his laptop. She watched him for a moment. His light brown hair and deep hazel eyes were almost as delicious as his muscles. No doubt he could lift a barrel of wine with his bare hands.

She debated on whether or not to tap on his door. She didn’t want to appear needy, but the men at Farabella turned her on. Sonia had no trouble being alone when working, but their attention was much more welcome than Dylan’s! Her dilemma was resolved when Jace Porter raced up and bumped into her.

“Sorry, Sonia. Are you keeping Warren tied up back here?” Jace smiled at them.

“I didn’t even see her. What can I do for our favorite wine critic?” Warren closed his computer and exited the office.

“Nothing. I just needed a bit of quiet. Dylan had poor Carter cornered, so I was giving them room.” It was an open secret her relationship with Dylan was over. Wine circles weren’t that big, even though the industry had grown in recent years. She felt especially safe at Farabella since the rumor was the three of them were into men despite how they flirted.

Jace shrugged. Normally the quiet one of the trio, Sonia liked him. She suspected he and Warren were more than friends. Then again, she occasionally picked up that vibe from all three of them until they turned around and focused on her. Being without sexual attention from a man now had her instincts on the prowl.

“What is it?” Warren asked.

“Dylan makes it sound like you two are going to get back together.” Jace ran the grape fields, and it showed in his darker tan. Beyond that he was the boy next door. His brown hair and brown eyes with a strong body and a shy smile made for an irresistible package.

However, Sonia had and would continue to resist the temptation. Dating another wine critic had proven foolish enough. Getting in bed with a winery was suicide. Besides, it was all in her head. She craved attention, and beyond the attraction to the three men of Farabella she’d also felt a friendship and trust with them not always present when she toured a vineyard.

“We are not getting back together! Some men can’t grow up and back off,” Sonia said in exasperation.

“Well, he won’t bother you while you’re with us. Don’t worry about that.” Warren wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

Desire radiated through her at the touch. The men were so close that she could feel the heat and enjoy the very male scents of earth, wood, and wine on them. Her pussy tightened, but Sonia kept a firm grip on her outward appearance. They were being sympathetic to a single girl, not making a move.

“Thanks, I can handle Dylan. Dating and business don’t mix. I knew better.” Being a control freak was harder than people realized. She apparently intimidated some men, so when she found one that hit on her and who shared her bedroom preferences, it was hard to resist. That didn’t mean she’d settle.

They walked toward Carter as the tasting concluded. Some critics made notes. Local VIPs went for a second glass. She saw Warren nod Carter over, and he came without question.

“Enjoying yourself, Ms. Rowan?” Carter always went very formal for tastings.

“Very much, thank you.” She smiled. For several years, she’d known and admired these men. They always made it worth the extra trip up to Mendocino County in northern California. Now with them buffering her from Dylan, she had the urge to let her guard down.

Hell, she wanted a personal life! Thirty was a year away and her mother complained about the lack of weddings amongst her three daughters. Sonia, being the eldest, received the bulk of the pressure.

Her father, on the other hand, liked that she was traveling and enjoying life. It was his European sensibilities. She’d also inherited her love of wine from him. The man had a massive wine cellar at his Tuscan villa. Her parents had divorced when Sonia was young and were forever on opposite sides. She’d learned to stand her ground and stay out of the line of fire while helping her sisters.

“It’s a shame you and Dylan didn’t work out,” Carter said.

He didn’t really seem sorry. She shrugged it off. “It was my mistake. We run in such small circles that it seemed like a good idea. He wasn’t right for me.”

“Maybe he couldn’t handle you?” Warren teased.

“Clearly.” Carter smiled. “Good thing he’s not invited for a special tasting and extended stay.”

“Extended stay?” Sonia tried to ignore the arousal as it spread through her.

“Just our favorite reviewers invited to sample a new Pinot Noir. Our housekeeper will take good care of you here, and she’s a wonderful cook. You won’t be alone with a bunch of single men,” Jace said.

In her dreams and fantasies she was routinely surrounded by these three. Somewhere deep inside her, hopes started to grow, but it had to be simply her lust. The odds of them being into her were slim, especially after her going on about Dylan. Screwing around with people in the work circles usually proved to be a mistake.

Bottom line, she didn’t need to get in bed with the men from Farabella except when dreaming. That had happened plenty of nights with or without her planning it. She’d used up batteries imagining how they looked naked and what they’d do to her and each other. Not that she ever imagined it’d happen in real life.

Delsin sniffed the air and came fully awake when the aroma of something tasty settled in his nose. It was his turn to cook, but someone must have taken pity on him and saved him from the arduous chore. He quickly dressed and headed for the kitchen.
He came to a halt just inside the door. Mer was standing in front of the stove, dressed in a pair of shorts and no shirt. He was humming some tune and wiggling his hips in time to the beat. Delsin felt his cock begin to fill, his lion stretching and purring inside him. Swallowing hard, he cleared his throat.
Mer turned around and smiled. “Good morning! Did you sleep well? I figured since you went to the trouble to bring all this food from Earth, I’d give you a hand and cook breakfast for everyone.” He took a step back and bit his lip. “Is that okay?”
Delsin took two steps into the room and smiled. “Absolutely, it’s okay. It smells wonderful.”
“What’s that heavenly smell?” Etu walked through the door, raking his fingers through his hair. Brother, my lion is fighting me. He wants Mer for a mate, and I’m not sure I can control him.
Delsin looked at the heat in Etu’s eyes and groaned inwardly. I know what you’re going through. My own beast is determined to claim the little man no matter what I want. We need to fight it, Etu. We need to find a female shifter that’s willing to come live with our pride so we can increase our numbers. Eventually our lions will understand this.
“That smell is the wonderful aroma of bacon, my friend. There’s nothing like starting the day with several thick slices of pig to go with your scrambled eggs.” Mer chuckled and put another pan on the cooking unit. He vigorously stirred a bowl of runny, yellow liquid.
“Man, that smells good.” Hakan walked in, followed closely by Knoton. “When are we eating?”
“Any minute now. “ Mer poured the contents of the bowl into the hot pan. “Take a seat, and I’ll bring your plates to you.” A few minutes later he was setting plates of eggs and bacon in front of each man. “Go ahead and get started. I’m gonna run and check on the babies, and then I’ll come back and join you.”
Delsin watched him walk down the hall and groaned.
“Goddess, this is fantastic.” Knoton shoveled the food in his mouth.
Hakan narrowed his eyes. “For somebody that’s not interested in taking him as a mate, the two of you are almost drooling watching him. What’s going on?”
Knoton snorted. “If you really don’t want him, would you mind if I take a stab at getting him to like me?”
In the blink of an eye, Delsin had Knoton up against the wall with his hands at his throat. “You will keep your paws off of him. Do you understand?”
Etu leaned in close. “We will end your life in a very painful way if you don’t stay away.”
Knoton grinned. “I can see how the two of you don’t really want or care about the little human.”
Delsin tightened his hands and then froze when a bloodcurdling scream came from the back of the house.

Stephanie stepped out of her car without being told and waited with her arms crossed. She tapped her low heel, resting her hip against the driver’s side door.
When she saw him, her bravado quickly diminished. She stood up straight, dropping her arms to her sides. As he strode toward her, she fiddled with the hem of her jacket. She was surprised that he didn’t remind her of the Saturday night drama. All she saw was the uniform and his dark eyes completely trained on her. She felt a delicious violation, as if he undressed her with just a look.
“Ms. Vasquez, we meet again.”
“Have I done something wrong, Officer Myers?” She was surprised how easily the flirting came back to her. One minute she’d been pissed off with the world. Now everything was sunshine and daisies.
“It’s a one-way street.”
She looked up and sure enough there was another arrow pointing in the opposite direction. He’d set her up.
“You signaled for me to pull over.”
He shook his head, pulling out his ticket pad and pen. He flipped over the cover and tapped the pen to his thick lips. “You chose to turn here. I gave you a break last time. This is a second offense.”
His face was so void of emotion, she wasn’t sure if he was playing or serious. Then she noticed Dom exiting the passenger side of the cop car. Maybe he’d be more reasonable, like last time.
“What do you have against me?” she asked. “I really can’t afford a ticket for this. Just because you saw me at that high-priced gala doesn’t mean I’m rolling in money. I was just covering it for the paper.”
“I know.” He wrote on the ticket, not looking at her.
“How do you know? Does it say where I work on my police record?”
“You don’t have a record.”
The late-afternoon sun highlighted the strands of gold in Dom’s dirty-blond hair as he neared. She couldn’t help but stare at his broad shoulders, the way the navy material clung to his hard muscles. “Problem here?”
“Yes. Why am I getting a ticket?”
“You must have committed a crime.” They stood side by side, a massive wall of authority. She felt weak in the knees as a wave of want and need slammed into her. “Turn around and face the car.”
She frowned, wondering what he was doing, but complied.
“Hands on the car.” They were treating her like a common criminal. When Dom’s hands locked around her wrists from behind, her breath caught. “Now, don’t move.” She couldn’t even speak, never mind move. Stephanie should be furious, venting steam for the treatment, but she only wanted more. Her fantasies were playing out and she expected to wake up to the alarm clock buzzer any second.
He squeezed her arms from wrist to shoulder in slow, measured increments. It felt like a sensual massage more than a frisking.
“Aren’t female officers supposed to search women?”
“I’m just patting you down, sweetheart. Don’t get excited.” He skimmed the backs of his hands down both her sides at once. Her eyes lolled back in her head, her nipples pebbling. What she really wanted was for his hand to reach around and cup her mound. When he bent down and ran his hands down her bare legs, she nearly cried out for him to reach under her skirt. She was glad she’d freshly shaved her legs this morning.
“She clean?” asked Officer Myers.
“Very.” His voice was anything but professional. It was deep, promising hours of depraved pleasure. Was it wrong to hit on a cop? She wondered if these nuts would charge her for harassing an officer if she tried.
“Can I turn around now?” She still had her hands on the hood of the car as told.
“Good girl. You can follow instructions well,” said Myers.

“Oh, my God, it is you. Kat!”
Before she could respond, a woman rushed across the room and pulled her into a hard embrace. She pressed her arms against the woman’s chest, her mouth growing dry, and the sound of her heartbeat roaring in her ears. “Stop. What are you doing?”
“What’s the matter? Don’t you recognize me?”
Kat looked closer, and her hand flew to her own chest. A heavy feeling settled in her stomach, her hands suddenly shaking uncontrollably. “Anna? What the hell have you done to yourself?”
Anna’s hair was longer than she’d ever seen it, hanging in a slender braid over one shoulder. Although still red, it had some silver streaks mixed throughout the stands. There were lines in her face Kat didn’t remember and a glow of happiness she’d never seen before.
“What are you wearing?” Anna had on some kind of long robe that looked like it came from the antique shop she and Anna liked to browse through on rainy weekends.
“Oh, Kat, it’s so good to see you again.”
Kat rubbed her forehead. “What do you mean, again? It’s only been a couple of hours since I left you in front of the saloon. Where the hell have you been?” She glanced around the room. “And where the hell are we?”
“Uh-oh! Looks like she doesn’t know any more than you did when you arrived.”
Kat looked toward the door and saw three men standing in front of the window. One was David, and the other two were strangers. Well over six feet tall and lanky, the man who’d spoken had brown hair with flecks of gray and dark eyes. The other man was short and stocky, with blond hair and blue eyes.
Anna put her hand on Kat’s arm. “We’re in the Silver Rush Saloon in Hamilton, Nevada.”
Kat studied the room and then turned back to Anna. “Okay, joke’s over. Did I pass out or something when I fell down the stairs? Did you cart me off somewhere so you could play some elaborate joke on me?” She laughed. “I have to admit, as far as jokes go, this one’s a beaut.”
“The truth is always best, Anna. It’s also easier in the long run for everyone.” Win smiled at Kat as he walked over to stand next to David.
Kat jumped at the sound of Win’s voice behind her. She looked at Anna. “Yeah, the truth would be nice.”
Anna took a deep breath. “Okay, but I’d like to ask you a couple of questions.”
Kat nodded. “Okay.”
“What’s the last thing you remember?”
She thought for a moment. “I was searching for you. I’d gone through the entire town and then remembered you wanted a closer look at the saloon, so I came inside.” She shrugged. “I looked around and spotted the door to the cellar.” Wrinkling her forehead, she paused. “There was something that wasn’t right.” She tried to recall what she’d seen. “The basement was a mess, but there was a…” Kat frowned, biting her lip. She walked a couple of steps away, her glance darting around, and then came back to stand in front of Anna. “There was…”
“A big, red glowy circle.” Anna raised her arm and put it around Kat’s shoulders. “It sucked you in and sent you here.”
Kat looked around and frowned. “It sucked me in and sent me here.” When Anna nodded she laughed. “And just where is here?”
Anna looked toward the ceiling and cleared her throat. “It’s not so much of a where, as when.” She nodded toward the men standing by the door. “You wanted to know who they are. Well, let me introduce you.”
Anna crooked her finger, motioning the men closer. Her hand rose to the brunet’s shoulder. “This is Beauregard Martinson, otherwise known as Beau.” Her hand moved to the other man’s shoulder. “And this is Ezekiel Moses Bennington, otherwise known as Zeke.” Anna swallowed and rubbed Kat’s arm in a soothing gesture. “They’re my husbands, and you’re in Hamilton, Nevada. It’s September the seventeenth, 1899.”
Kat tensed, her temper flaring. She took a step back, her nails biting into her palms. “It’s not nice to try and pull the wool over your best friend’s eyes. What do you take me for?” She paused to catch her breath. “Oh, I know, this is payback for nagging you into making this trip.”
She turned and walked toward the door. “I’m getting out of here. I’m not gonna be the butt of anybody’s jokes no matter how good of friends we are.” She pulled open the door and froze. The rotting buildings were gone and in their place were solid, weathered structures. The dirt road looked well-traveled, and there were horses tied up in front of several of the buildings.
Holding her breath, she whirled around to stare at Anna. “You said it’s 1899?”
Anna nodded and wrapped her arms around her waist. “Yes, Kat. For me, it’s been twenty-eight years since you walked down the road toward the mill, leaving me to look through the town. You’ve traveled one hundred and thirteen years into the past.”
Kat heard a roaring sound in her ears while white spots danced in front of her eyes. Then, blessed blackness settled around her.

What was this she submitted herself to? This bliss, this ever-building crescendo within her was strange and wonderful all at the same time. Wrapping her arms around their heads, Dana did the only thing she could think of and held them to her as they took her to heaven and back again.
Why didn’t the girls at Agatha’s tell her about this…this all-consuming need she felt when they caressed her? Was it something she experienced because her men weren’t of her world? Did they know something the men on Earth did not?
Tarin caught her when her knees buckled, and he carried her to one of the thick mattresses on the floor, Lorcan following behind them.
Dana wasn’t prepared for this. She didn’t know how to tell them that this was too much for her. The pleasure, the decadence of what they did, carried her to the edge of some precipice she had no idea how to keep from toppling over. She sensed that soon, very soon, something would drive her close to that edge and she would fall. Her question was, would she survive?
“Did we ever tell you how beautiful you are?” Tarin asked as he moved up her body to press his lips gently against hers. Finally, he kissed her. She was beginning to wonder if they kissed on their planet, and she had wanted to know what it felt like.
It felt…heavenly. Dana sighed into his mouth, and he took the opportunity to thrust his tongue between her lips. Her eyes flew open with surprise. No one ever told her about that! With a slight smile, she wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. No matter. She liked it. He palmed the back of her head, his fingers sifting through her wet hair as he kissed his way across her collarbone to the side of her neck.
Dana panted with need. Her lungs labored to draw breath as their mouths made a leisurely journey over her quivering flesh.
Lorcan moved to breathe into her ear. “You are the most beautiful woman we have ever seen.”
Dana gasped as he thrust his tongue into her ear then suckled the lobe. Whatever came of this night, of this bargain that she had made with these two men she’d just met, felt right. It felt as though she’d known them forever. Whatever happened, tonight was hers and she refused to regret it.
“Open your eyes, love.” Tarin breathed the words against her skin. “We want you to see us, to look at us, to know that we are your mates and that we will never harm you. In fact, we both would die for you.”
Smiling, Dana reached up to cup their cheeks, her thumbs feathering over their bottom lips. “I hope it never comes to that. I think I’m going to like being your wife.”
“We can only hope so, baby,” Tarin said before he lowered his head to her breast once again. Slowly, he moved his hand down over her stomach. Dana sucked in her breath as his hand skimmed over the sensitive skin, moving lower still to the curls at the apex of her thighs.
She gasped when his fingers dipped lower into her sex, his experienced fingers circling her clit. With a groan, Dana instinctively spread her legs, allowing him easier access to her sex.
It wasn’t until Lorcan moved from her side to crawl up between her legs that she had any worry at all. With no warning, Lorcan settled himself between her thighs, threw her legs over his shoulders, and lowered his head to her already sensitive flesh.
Dana screamed when his mouth made contact with her sex, his tongue laving the hard nub between her legs. He lapped at her like some great cat licking cream from a saucer. A great pleasure-pain built within her as he continued to take her to the edge, repeatedly teasing her with the promise of release before slowly bringing her back down.
Tarin continued to alternately kiss her and suckle her nipples as his friend continued to ruthlessly bring her to near orgasm again and again until she was ready to scream out her frustration.
Finally, when she was ready to beg for release, Lorcan raised his head and looked deep into her eyes. “Come for me, Dana,” he said just before he lowered his head, his lips circling her clit. He pulled it ruthlessly into his mouth, suckling hard as Tarin’s mouth tugged at her breast. It gave her exactly what she needed to finally reach the summit, and Dana dove headfirst into the dark abyss that awaited her.
A scream bubbled from her throat as the world burst into a million tiny shards of light. Her body arched up off the bed, pressing her breasts tighter against Tarin’s warm mouth. She screamed again when he bit gently down on her sensitized nipple, as he reached across her and tugged on the other hard nub.
For a moment, Dana lay on the bed, quivering with aftershocks while her men kissed their way back up her body. What was next?

“I’ve a mind to taste you again.”

Thrilling to those desire-laden words, Lanie waited breathlessly. The full-body tremor had returned and with it the low unfurling in her belly. Surrendering to the wanton feelings, her trembling legs widened in offer.

Her glistening invitation displayed so provocatively in the moonlight, Jason feared his heart would burst from wanting her. Helpless to do otherwise, he fell between those silken thighs and wrapped his arms around her hips.

Needing to rein in his passions, he rested his head against her thigh in an attempt to still the firestorm raging in his balls. It had been years since he’d lain with a woman and never with one who had so thoroughly stolen his heart and soul like this lovely creature had. He so wanted this first time, hers and theirs, to be everything it could be. She needed to know how wondrous it was for a man and a woman to share this most intimate act. If Cathy had taught him anything, it was how important this intimacy was. Before his death he’d tried everything to break through that frigid, albeit deceitful, wall. He pushed thoughts of Cathy from his mind. She wouldn’t steal this precious moment like she had upstairs.

Drawing Lanie closer, he showered her inner thighs with occasional kisses interspersed with warm, flat licks. Higher now, he nibbled her lips, grazed with his teeth and sucked them, and when he felt the diamond nub hard against his tongue, he dwelled there even longer, teasing her flesh with slow persistent circles. One finger followed and found her slick and hot inside.

Shifting his body to accommodate his now overly hard and throbbing cock, Jason eased another finger into her heat and curled along the slippery ridges within. Her muscles clenched around his fingers. The incredibly hot tightness made him groan in anticipation of his cock following his fingers’ path. He shifted again, bending his knee to make room for the ache in his balls. He hoped he could last. He had to. Looking up past her belly and breast to read her face, Jason saw for himself Lanie was as mindless as he.

The sight of her lying there, head turning from side to side in her pleasure, her breasts heaving as she panted, made his cock feel like he’d explode with want of her. Pressing his groin hard into the mattress to maintain his control, he resumed pleasuring her with his tongue. Before long he felt her building release, and worked his fingers fast, each thrust and withdrawal widening and stretching in cadence with his tongue’s warm, rapid licks. He murmured hotly against her flesh between passes with his tongue, “Yes my love, you crave this as much as I.”

“Yes, Jason, oh yes,” came her breathy reply. Jason was creating more pleasure than Lanie ever thought possible. The vibration began in her legs and unfurled along her spine. Her hands released their tangle in his hair. Afraid of making a sound as the pleasure stole her senses, she gathered the pillow on either side of her head to muffle the sounds attempting to tear from her throat.

The pillow muted an animalistic groan that turned Jason’s blood to molten steel. Wanting to delay this first release, he stopped his focused attentions to travel up along her body laying kisses along the way. Pressing belly to belly with her, Jason pulled the pillow-clutching hands away. His weight pressed her into the bed and his thrumming cock and balls rested against the steaming wetness he’d left behind. Cupping her face with both hands, his eyes searched hers. Seeing she was ready, he kissed her deeply.

Lanie returned Jason’s kiss wildly. The moment was primal, her scent was all over his face, and she could taste herself on his lips. Reaching down, her fingers closed on his cock and, stroking now, she murmured his own words at his lips, “I’ve a mind to taste you…”

He could clearly see the hot determination lighting her eyes, and abandoning himself to the moment, Jason rolled over on his back to let her have her way. Her hair fanned out over his thighs as she nuzzled her cheek along his cock. When she kissed the head, his hands wound themselves in the midnight silk. Her questing tongue lapped the full length of rigid steel, and reacting to tentative licks, his seed dribbled over them both. He heard her maidenly gasp of surprise, the sound followed by soft sounds as she opened her mouth to draw him in. It was too exquisite to wait any longer. Their time had come.

Feeling Jason pull at her hips, she stopped her ministrations to follow where he led.

Jason drew her to him and kissed her again. He whispered at the corner of her lips, “Are you ready, my love?”

Lanie nodded breathlessly. She was ready for something, and she instinctively knew with Jason it would be glorious.

Jason maneuvered himself between her open thighs and found her flesh hot like a firebrand. He ran the tip of his cock up and down over her slit to wet him as he parted her for his entry. Yes, it was time. She was hot, swollen with desire, and slick, very slick. He pressed into her. His body pushed forward as her legs pulled back and she stretched to accommodate his access. He groaned against her neck as he sheathed himself fully in her wondrous fire.

Perfect. Jason held her tight and allowed her body to mold around him. He whispered softly, “You’re so tight around me, love, so warm.” It had been ages since heat like this warmed his blood fully, ages since he’d felt such exquisite perfection engulfing him. At first he didn’t want to move, but soon the grip of her desire compelled him. Pulling out nearly all the way, he eased back in with the same delicate slowness. He planned to go slow. He planned to hold himself in check. But he didn’t plan on the depth of her desire.

Lanie began to meet each thrust with a rising tempo of her own. The sensation of gliding cock meeting each delectable ridge was exquisite. Lifting her hips each time he pressed forward, she sheathed him to his root.

Before long their steady cadence increased, and Lanie’s pleasure mounted as his balls slapped against her flesh in a bold and rhythmic tempo.

Bathed in a moonlit sheen of exertion, Lanie’s back arched, and in that moment Jason could feel her mind—her focused pursuit, the blissful abandon, and the surety that this was meant to be.
